Source 7: 'GLAAD Transgender Media Program'

E: GLAAD is an organization that was founded in 1985 in response to the media’s disgusting coverage of the issue of HIV and AIDS. GLAAD works to push acceptance of LGBTQ+ people, educate people about HIV/AIDS, end stigma surrounding the bisexual community, as well as helping to present images of LGBTQ+ people within the Latinx community.

L: This resource presents stats regarding the fact that many people report not personally knowing anyone who identifies as transgender. This fact is troubling because it could be a cause as to why some people feel disconnected to trans issues, since they can’t imagine the situations happening to anyone they personally know.
